Welcome with open arms fellow believers who don’t see things the way you do.
And don’t jump all over them every time they do or say something you don’t agree with
– even when it seems that they are strong on opinions but weak in the faith department.
Remember, they have their own history to deal with. Treat them gently. Romans 14.1: The Message

3ABN English, 3ABN Latino and 3ABN Radio are moving to a new satellite Galaxy 19 and will turn off the current channels on satellite AMC 4 in several months. The Galaxy 19 satellite is the most highly watched satellite serving North America with 4 to 5 million viewers, greatly increasing the potential viewing audience over the estimated 200 thousand viewers from the current satellite. This move will spread the gospel to to so many more homes in North America, Central America and throughout the Caribbean!

3ABN will be adding a new 3ABN Preaching Channel and are joined on the satellite by Radio 74, LLBN English and their additional new channels, LLBN Arabic and LLBN Chinese. Amazing Facts and Amazing Discoveries are also launching new TV channels in the next few weeks on Galaxy 19.

If you have a Glorystar Christian Satellite System with the two LNBFs mounted on the 36" dish, no changes will be necessary to the satellite dish to continue to receive 3ABN, LLBN, Radio 74 and the other new Adventist channels. If you have a 36" dish with a single LNBF, you will need to either aim the dish to the new satellite and program the new frequencies into your receiver or upgrade the system to the Glorystar two LNBF satellite package to continue receiving all of the Adventist channels.

Step by step receiver programming and dish aiming instructions for all popular satellite receivers are available at: www.glorystar.tv under the "SUPPORT" tab.

Please take note that at the time of this posting Hope Channel, Esperanza TV, Hope Church Channel, ATN/ACN and LifeTalk Radio have not made a decision to move to the new satellite. At this time, they are remaining on the current satellite AMC4.

This change will not affect you if you receive 3ABN through MOIPTV broadband, Dish Network, the internet or your local cable company.

Unless Hope Channel moves too, this is going to cause a lot of headaches - especially among our senior citizen members. People will have to purchase the update kit and get someone to install and tune it for them. I already have two dishes, one pointed at each satellite so I will just have to do a new scan on Galaxy 19 - no big deal. A lot of people are going to have to do more than that which will involve both time and money.

What's so great about it? I am already ticked off about losing the Gospel Music Channel and my technician cannot figure out the coordinates of the Hope Church Channel in order to program my Topsfield receiver.... 'nuff sed

That is a good thing, no doubt. However it comes at the cost that many of the Adventists that now have access will have to spend time and money to keep access.

My personal belief is that the Adventist satellite ministries should be used as an outreach tool to spread the gospel to as many people as possible, not just a tool to preach to the choir.

The move to Galaxy 19 is reaching out to over 5 million potential viewers of all beliefs in North America and not just the 150,000 - 200,000 primarily Adventist viewers on AMC4. Adventist stations will now be available 24/7 on the most widely watched satellite in North America!

Doors are being opened to reach so many more people that never even know that these Adventist TV and radio stations existed. These new viewers would have never bought a satellite system to watch the Adventist channels, but now these channels are available on a platform that they use for daily entertainment and information.

BTW... Gospel Music Television did not go away, they recently moved to the Galaxy 19 satellite.

I think many Adventists are a bit self-centered. They will spend hundreds of dollars on a big screen TV, surround sound and many other electronic toys but will complain about buying a $48 upgrade and paying someone $70 to install it so they can continue getting both 3ABN and Hope Channel. Myself, I plan on buying a 4' dish before the end of the year so I don't lose signal from cloud cover. Adventist television is important to me and I am willing to pay for what I need to get it.

I'm planning to install the upgrade myself on my old GeoSatPro system. It's $58 with the shipping. It will get a bunch of new channels I couldn't get before including a lot of Adventist programming I couldn't get before. I'm thinkin' it'll be worth it.
