Adventist Community Services is pleased to announce the
second Adventist Urban Congress on Sunday, August 30 through
Wednesday, September 2, 2009 at the Dallas First
Adventist Church, in Dallas, Texas.
If you register 10 or more from your conference the registration fee will be
$100 per person instead of $170.
In addition, Spanish translation will be available.
This year, we are bringing together practitioners, networkers and researchers seeking to learn how to assess and improve the impact of Christian community outreach ministries through participatory learning in order to expand our faithful contribution to God's Kingdom purposes.
We would like to extend an invitation to all pastors and leaderships on every level who desire to acquire unconventional tools and skills for leading congregations into 21st century community outreach ministries. We are planning to enhance the Second Urban Congress by inviting the North American Division ministry department directors, such as Adult, Children's, Family, Health, Women's Youth and Volunteer Ministries and other conference and church leaders to share their outreach ministries. This will be an interactive shared learning experience.
The Congress will focus on these two components:
Transforming your congregation
• Catch a vision for God’s heart of compassion
• Increase passion to serve and grow spiritually
• Make new friends and build closer relationships
Impacting your community
• Build relationships between your church and community
• Meet real needs
• Reach out to people looking for a service-oriented church
• Earn the right to be heard
In addition to the general session, we will have several morning and evening inspirational and challenging speakers. Elder Don Schneider, President of NAD, will be the keynote speaker and Elder Ron Clouzet, Secretary of NAD Ministerial Association, will be the dedication speaker.
We strongly believe it is time to increase the impact of Adventist outreach ministries as a leading force for strengthening communities and local congregations.
Let us start reaching out and transforming your congregations and impacting your community for God and His Kingdom, together!
Sincerely,
Sung Kwon
