I think marriage is a taste of heaven. The selfless love we have for our spouse is a sample of the love we will have in heaven for everyone. While I don't believe we will have sexual relationships in heaven or the new earth, I believe the love relationship we now have with our spouses, we will have there with everyone. So it will be beyond what we can grasp here on earth.

So there was no sex in the garden before sin?

"For in the resurrection they neither marry, nor are given in marriage, but are as the angels of God in heaven." (Matthew 22:30)

I think the joy of sex is a very small taste of the joy we will have in heaven. What Christ has waiting for us is beyond our comprehension.

You need to study the text in context. The conversation was about the resurrection, neither before or after. You want to support your premise, supply something that pertains to the subject in context.

No one has come up with a reason why God created male and female and then decides to neuter them in some later utopia.

Really do believe that many have bought that old idea of puritanism, that sex is not good for mankind.

But keep in mind that Heaven/The New Earth (including the restored Garden of Eden) will be better than the original arrangement (don't ask me how this would be possible). God will not only restore mankind to its original position in the universe (spotless, perfect human beings created in Gods own Image), but He will uplift the redeemed of this peculiar order to the angelic and more so, as the redeemed human throng will share the same experience and knowledge of sin/tempation as Jesus did (Jesus never sinned, but He was treated as the greatest, human sinner on Calvary), an experience in which no other sinless angelic or heavenly intelligences can partake or look into.

This ought to give us a slight understanding of God's true nature, contrary to the flourishing deceptive and directly perverted views on His Person.

So let's say they live in heaven for 1000 years - not married to anyone.

Then everyone comes to the New Earth. Are they still humans Or are they now Angels? Is there no longer "male nor female" or is there just "no longer marriage" or in that state of "no marriage" was that just for the 1000 years? If there is no longer male no female - there certainly could not be any more marriage -- not in heaven and not in the New Earth.

But if they remain Male and Female and human - I am thinking that eventually - there is family, there is Marriage. However even in that case, I would not think that there would be a "problem" between former spouse arrangements that existed on sinful earth for no more than 10 or 20 or 60 years here on earth - after that 1000 years of no marriage in heaven.

Jesus was telling them that their question was in error. They were asking the wrong question. If they understood the Scriptures and the power of God they wouldn't even be asking the question.

We humans tend to put too much emphasis on sex so that it becomes pleasure's utopia. Thus many cannot comprehend heaven without sex. Yet marriage is only a taste of heaven. As good as sex is, it is only a shadow of the joy heaven holds for us.

asking about marriage and sex in heaven disregarding Jesus explaination of a higher world screams SIN!

The sin that made Adam and Eve fall. The sin that drove Cain to kill his Abel. The sin that drove the Religious Jews to kill their CREATOR!

The sin we are all guilty of.

Thinking our understanding and ways are best regardless what GOD says. We have to mull it over and compare what we think and EXPERIENCE to every Instruction, Every Proclaimation, Every Command!
It has to go thru our lens of selfishness first!

U see in this world we have sin that rules us. The thorns and decay. The pride and the love of ease. The fornication and abortion. The sick and the dead. The rape and the murder is all we know outside of GOD. So you will compare this pathetic life to heaven. That you who only know the joys of a few friends and one spouse and family who you give yourself to partially or completely thinks thats the standard to go on?

Heaven has a very different standard than one or a few you have intimacy with(emotional and spiritual not sex). Its about SERVING other. Giving yourself completely to the universe of Gods delighted creation. Your affections to GOD will be SURPREME and your affections to others(all others not just a few) will be impartial. Does that clik in the most remotest part of your sinful head? Goodness gracious!

Let me paint u a picture of eternity...
with my limited experience and understanding...




When in heaven you will spend time in reunion and the joys of friends and family!!!
Perhaps seek out other christians with familar connections of 6 degrees of separtion on the old earth.
Perhaps seek out the men and woman of the bible.
Missionaries that u heard of or read about... how long will that take? A thousand years? A million!

Getting to know them and sharing the joys of Salvation together reflecting Gods LOVE. It can take an awefully long time to bask in each others understanding and expereinces. Perhaps its just you and your church family milling around TOGETHER meeting and getting to know the before mentioned... With your lovely spouse in hand. How sweet!

Then in the next billions of years you expand your horizons. Get to know people from other parts of the old earth. Serving and sharing!

Then the next 3 billion years get to know a smattering of angels.
All the while with your spouse in hand. ahhh ! just like Romeo and Juliet ..err without the poisen and dagger and wooly ornate bulky layers of clothes



Then after 50 billion years your spouse from the old world finds her or hisself running in different circles of people! o dear

The connection isnt lost. The joys of spiritual intamacy will be enjoyed by so many others. Then 100 trillion years after that You find yourself enjoying the individuals who live in far flung galaxys. You have ETERNITY to get to know every person on a real deep leval. Like you have with your spouse now (or not)!


The ties that bind us together will not be lost but will expand!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
